40 Yr High School Reunion

In 1974 I was a happy 15 yr old living in Burbank, Calif. MY father decided that our family needed a change and moved us to a little desert town called Ridgecrest. My only saving grace was my cousin Lori who had lived there with her family ( my dad and her dad are brothers) for many years. So dad got a job on the Naval weapon center base and we got to live in base housing. Lori and I lived 2 blocks from each other. This little desert town grew on me and I had some wonderful years there. Lori and I attended Burroughs High School and this year was our 40th HS reunion. I found out about it in Jan and I told Lori that we had to go, so we made plans and we went. I am so glad that we did. It was fun to visit my old town, alot has changed since we left there many years ago. George and I actually lived there for several years after we were married. While we were there we tried to locate all of our childhood homes and sadly they are all gone. The town is depressing now, it is dirty and rundown and that is sad to see. But while we were there we had a blast and so glad we went.
on our plane ready to go

we had to purchase some sancks of course

getting into LA

On our way up we stopped in Lancaster to see Ken

best friends since we were babies

My first job was at this McDonalds, altho it looks much different now.

this is our old friend John Hanne- he always brought us to school or home from school in is VW bus, he was older then us but so much fun to hang aournd with. Lori had a big crush on him!

In front of our High School

the campus is drap and dreary now, when we were there all the brick was red and there were trees and red brick seating around the trees. Now it looks like a Prison yard.

This was our favorite class, Mr Walker was our teacher and Lori had a crush on him!! It was the best class.

Pinney pool was one of our hangouts... so may fun memories there.

thumbs down to our Hotel. The t.v did not work, the bathroom floors were filthy, they never came in to change our bedding and even the phone in the room did  not work, WE still laughed!

On our way home!

One last time at Silverwood.

One of the best things that George and I every Summer is get a pass to Silverwood. We have so much fun taking the kids, it just makes for wonderful memories. So the season for Silverwood is over so we took an opportunity in Sept to take the kids one last time, Whitney came with Forest and Fynn, everyone had lots of fun.
