New Trophy, New House, New Car and rising waters at CDA Lake

Well I have had several things I wanted to post and instead of doing seperate bolgs for each one I am going to combine them. I wanted to post a picture of Steph and Bretts new house, they actually bought it before they were married and have now begun the fixing up, it is a really cute house but needs some TLC which they are giving a lot of. We all went over to their new house on Sunday for family dinner and the weather was so nice that we had dinner out on the front lawn. It is a darling house with beautiful wood work on the inside and also a really neat rock fire place which will mean cozy nites in the cold winter.

Madyson finished her first season of soccer with a pizza party and a cool trophy. Her team did not actually win any games but they had fun playing and all the girls got along good. They all learned good sporstmanship and they also were so tolerant of the bad weather they had to play in in pratically all of the games.

Good Job Maddy!!!

Kimmy and Ben bought a new car. Kim has been saving up for quite a while, she spoted this car several months ago and knew exactly what she wanted. She saved for months and then they also traded in the other car she was driving and Ben the wheeler dealer had them knock $3,000 of the asking price. It will be a great little family car when ever they decide to add some babies to this family!!

I thought I added the pictures of the rising waters at lake Coeur d'Alene but I don't see them here, anyways the snow run off from the mountains has been so great that the waters are rising right into the parking lot and up to the life guard stands. Hopefully it will be down by summer. If they did not post here I will repost them.

Yard sell treasures

Yard sell season has begun, yesterday ( Saturday) George and I discoverd a housing development that was having a 30 house yard sell so we parked the car and had a lovely day going from house to house finding things we could probably have lived without but it was fun anyways. We got a nice litte aquarium for our little gold fish Nugget that Madyson won at the fair last summer, found a nice picnic basket set and I think the find of the day was this camera bag which I paid $3 for and it holds both of my cameras and all the accesories. So we are planning on lots of picnics and lots of picture taking.

Oh thank the good Lord, we finally have warm weather, after 7 months of snow and rain we were blessed with a beautiful day of sunshine and pure joy. It was so nice outside that Kylah and I went to the store and got some flowers to plant at the office, while I was doing that she blew bubbles and ate some ice cream. WE could not have asked for a more gorgeous day.

Mothers Day and Kimmys Birthday

Teri and the Kids..( Missing Ryan)

Since Kim was born the day before Mothers Day 22 years ago we usually celebrate both days with a big dinner and cake and ice cream for her, ( except when she was little, then she had her own party) this time was no exception, her birthday was on Saturday this year and Ben took her to Seattle to watch a baseball game and do a little sight seeing. We had plans for everyone to gather at our house Sunday evening, Ken bar-b-qued chicken and Tri Tip which was delicious, he just had a master touch with a Bar-b-q. We had quite a gathering, all the kids were here except Ryan and he will be joining us for Whitneys graduation, I wish he lived closer to us. Steph and Brett brought Kyra and McKenna so it was good to have them with us, Cheryl and Ken were here and Melanie invited a girlfriend over so we had a full house. There were many presents to open, we gave presents to Steph this year since she is a new Step Mom to Kyra and McKenna. The kids and George treated me well with wonderful presents and I got the girls some memorable things too. I love my family with all my heart and it just makes me feel so good when we can all be together. I am so thankful for my children, they all bring me much joy and happiness in their own individual ways. I also love being a grandma too, I feel very blessed.

The Story of Mimi

Mimi belongs to my sister Cheryl (Auntie) and there is a heartwarming stroy behind her. My sister started a job last August at a Dr.s Office and after a few days of working there she noticed this cat sitting on the ledge of the window every day. Pretty soon the girls in the office started feeding her and she would just sit on the ledge and look at the girls working in the office. Once the weather started getting cold the girls in the office convinced my sister to take her home. Cheryl did not have any pets and she thought this would be a good idea. Someone loaned her a cat carrier and during a lunch hour Mimi was brought to her new home. At first she was really scared and would hide under the bed. Soon enough tho she warmed up to Cheryl and would sit on her lap and sleep on her bed. However if anyone entered the house she would make a mad dash for the bed and hide until that person left. Now I (Teri) go over to Cheryls every morning to exercise and every day I would say "Hi Mimi, come and see me" and soon enough she got to know me and as soon as she smells my hand she lets me pet her. Cheryl calls her "Princess Mimi" because she is the princess of the house and she has also become very fat! She is spoiled and Fat but we have come to love her so much.

Whitneys Senior Project

Whitney chose to do her Senior Project on the Peace Corp, she had to make a poster, do a project and write a 8 minute speech. She had a mentor that she worked with who is currently in the Peace Corp working in China. As part of her project she chose to make blanets and send them to an orphange in China and send magazines as well. The children love to look at the pictures in the magazines. We are proud of you Whitney and will look forward to graduation.

Shower Cap Girl

Tonight Kylah wanted to take a bath at Aunties ( my sister) house and she did not want to get her hair wet so she put on Cheryls shower cap to protect her hair and she looked so cute so I had to take a few shots. She loves the camera and she loves baths!

Our Family Vacation

Well after a lot of planning and saving we ( George, Teri, Whitney, Logan and Kylah) flew to San Diego and had 6 days of FUN in the Sun!!!!!! We had to go to Southern Californina just to get warm since North Idaho is taking it's sweet time in warming up. We stayed with Georges sister and her husband in San Marcos, while we were in San Diego we visited family members that we have not seen in years, we went to the San Diego Zoo, we also went to Balboa Park which was Amazing but sooo hot! We dipped our toes in the Pacific Ocean and ate lots of ice cream.

Monday and Tuesday we spent at Disneyland and California Adventure. We had a hotel about a mile from Disneyland with a wonderful pool and hot tub which I think Kyalh could have lived in! This was Kylah's first time at Disneyland so we were all excited for her and she just soaked it up. She loved every minute of it, we road as many rides as we could in the one day we spent there. She got to get her picture taken with Goofy, Cinderella and Woody ( from Toy Story). The second day we went to California Adventure which was great, it was much cooler and way less crowded. The kids went on the big roller coasters while George and I took Kylah to the part of the part that was more geared for smaller kids. We just had so much fun and it was so nice to get away and visit family and be in part of the country where it was warm and sunny.
