Before and After

I took upon a big summer project by painting the outside of the house and then redecorating the living room and kitchen, I have been working on it all summer long and just finished last weekend, I still have some work to do on the outside but I can gradually work on that. I was going for Rustic farmhouse, I am pleased with the turn out, it is warm and comfy!!
Our house was ugly peach with green trim!

my sister helped me with the porch.

so it is tan with white trim and cranberry shutters,

we did brick wall paper in the kitchn

chicken wire on some old frames.

steph gave me these old windows from her house

finished wall with pictures.

Jared gave me this old shelf from his barn in the backyard.

Jaxon turns 4

Well the babies are growing up, Jaxon, Brayden and Georgia all turn 3 this month ( Bray in Sept), hard to believe, I cant call them babies anymore, they are smart, talking little people!! We had intentions of having Jaxons party down at Mill River but it was unseasonably cold and windy Kim graciously invited us all to her house. Everything worked out great and Jaxon had a great birthday.
this pirate ship was a big hit.

Fishing with Papa

Last Friday Jaxon spent the night with us, so Saturday George took him fishing down at Fernan Lake, I think this might have been his first time and I have to say he did pretty good, he was alot more intrested in what was on the dock and what was in the lake but he is only 4 after all!! I stopped by to check up on them and got a few good pictures. While we were there he said to me.... "grandma do you want to hear a joke?" and of course I told him yes I would love to hear a joke and he said "fishy has houses" and I said they do? and he said yes, fishy have houses in the water and then he started laughing at himself!! Gotta love it!! When we went up to Glidden Lake on Sunday Fynnlee was totally intrested in fishing and sat on Georges lap for a good hour just waiting for a fish. When he felt one on his line he let her reel it in. That was a big thrill for her! Love love love these glorious summer days and these grandbabies.

A real Ghost Town

On the way to Lake Glidden there is a little town called Burt Idaho, it used to be a thriving Mining town but now it is a true Ghost town. Everything is boarded up and it is slient as the dead of night, George dropped me off and I walked thru town taking pictures. I could have spent more time here, it was amazing and I so want to know the history of everything that went on in this little town. It is kind of errie now, but so intriguing.
